String quartet music by four local professionals

Inna Erskine is a locally grown musician, who started playing the violin at the age of three and a half with Audrey Dutton. She was awarded a scholarship to the Royal College of Music Junior Department at the age of nine and three years later, a scholarship to attend the Purcell School of Music where she continued her studies with Jean Fiske and Professor Jack Glickman. Inna is now a full time musician and music teacher. She has launched a pre-school programme of music and art classes in the name of Harmony Hive. Inna has performed in our twin town of Weil am Rhein Germany, in France and the United States and in the UK's Guildhall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Rooms.

Michael Sullivan, based in Sussex, studied at Trinity College of Music. Since then he has had a successful career as a freelance violinist, conductor and educational manager. He has been Head of String Teaching for Berkshire, West Sussex and Guernsey Music Services. Michael was founder of the Chichester Pro Camerata and has performed with the Camerata String Quartet and the Stagg String Quartet.

Phyllida Maude-Roxby studied at the Royal College of Music under Cecil Aronowitz and Jaroslav Vanecek. She has played with many orchestras, generally freelancing. Since leaving London in 1988, she has led a busy life raising a family amidst playing in ensembles and orchestras, teaching both violin and viola, examining for the ABRSM which has included several tours abroad and adjudicated at festivals. Chamber music has been an important part of her life.

Neil Charlton, after graduating from Kingston University, studied at Trinity College of Music, London for two years postgraduate study with the cellist Derek Avis. He was a founder member of the Miklos String Quartet that won Trinity College's prestigious Heller Prize. He has played with the Royal Scottish National, BBC Concert, BBC Radio and BBC Philharmonic Orchestras. Now teaching cello in Berkshire and Surrey, he plays regularly as a member of West Forest Sinfonia, including recently performing as cello soloist in Kenneth Leighton's Suite Veris Gratia.
